ZONTA CLUB OF NOARLUNGA / SOUTHERN VALES INC

The Zonta Club of Noarlunga / Southern Vales strives to have fun as well as working to enhance the lives of women, especially those living in the southern area of Adelaide.  As part of Zonta International, we also participate in many overseas projects.

This Club has been chartered since 1984 and has been involved in many community events and issues during that time.

We meet on the fourth Wednesday of the month at the St Francis Restaurant & Function Centre, 14 Bridge Street, Reynella. 

Some of our activities are:

• Making Breast Care Cushions which are distributed through local hospitals to be given to women recovering from breast surgery.

• Quiz Nights

• Women of Achievement Awards where invited local community leaders, help us celebrate the outstanding activities of women in the area.  These achievements are wide ranging and cover the fields of sporting, academia, business and community.

• Christmas in July dinner

• Twilight Bowling

• Women in Business Awards – local business leaders are nominated and a final selection is made in conjunction with the Southern Success Business Centre.  Previous winners have gone on to be entrants and finalists in the Telstra Women in Business Awards.

• Supporting ‘Operation Flinders’ – a group taking ‘at risk’ teenagers for a week’s physically demanding bush hike to learn self sufficiency, team work and self respect.

• Donating book vouchers to girls nominated by their high school teachers as exceptional participants in the community.
